Changing how we look at neurodivergence
(ADHD, AuDHD, Autism)
For adults seeking clarity, understanding, and support with their neurodivergence.
You’re Not Late. You’re Not Broken. You’re Not Alone.
Many adults begin questioning ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) or autism (ASD) later in life, often after years of masking, burnout, anxiety, or feeling like we’re constantly failing. Some of us have learned that we’re “probably” neurodivergent, but would like the confirmation and validation that a professional evaluation and report can provide.
At A Shift in Focus, I work with adults who want a thoughtful, respectful process that honors lived experience alongside clinical expertise. Whether you’re exploring a diagnosis, seeking therapy, or both, care here is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming values, not quick checklists, harsh judgements, or assumptions.
Whether you’re already sure you’re neurodivergent and need support
or
you want to find out for sure by having a confidential ADHD/Autism assessment
A Shift in Focus can help.
What We Offer
Two Services. One Thoughtful, Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach.
Counseling & Ongoing Support
Neurodivergence-Affirming Therapy for Adults
Description
Ongoing counseling is available for adults with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD who want support around self-understanding, burnout, relationships, boundaries, emotional regulation, and daily life strategies. Therapy is collaborative and paced to your needs—without trying to “fix” neurodivergence.
Good fit if you’re looking for:
Support navigating life as a neurodivergent adult
Help with burnout, overwhelm, or identity exploration
Practical strategies tailored to your nervous system
A therapist who understands both early and late diagnosis and masking
Adult ADHD & Autism Evaluations
Comprehensive Adult ADHD & Autism Evaluations
Description
Evaluations are designed specifically for adults and center your lived experience alongside neurodivergence-friendly clinical tools. This process may include screening, structured interviews, and standardized measures, with clear feedback and written documentation and reports
Good fit if you’re seeking:
Clarity about ADHD, autism, or AuDHD
Formal documentation for work, school, or accommodations.
A respectful alternative to rushed or checklist-based evaluations
Optional follow-up counseling after assessment
The Convenience of Telehealth
Connect Anywhere
My practice is 100% telehealth- from the intake documents to our sessions, to billing and sharing secure messages. Telehealth can be a neurodivergence-friendly approach to therapy because of its accessibility.
It eliminates the need to plan for travel time in order to connect, which can be so helpful for those of us who struggle with time.
Many people also feel more at ease having therapy in the comfort of their home (often with their pets on their laps and fidget toys in hand), in their office, or even their “car office,” (parked for safety, of course!).
Struggling with Reaching Out?
I get it. Really.
